The Feb 1st deadline for registration for JSOC 2022 Stage 1 is approaching. Register now at jsoc.ca.
Stage 1 for the Junior Science Olympiad of Canada and, ultimately, qualification for IJSO 2022 (hosted by Ukraine) will be Saturday, Feb 12th. Register at jsoc.ca. The deadline for registration is Feb 1st, 2022. All Canadian students attending Canadian Schools who will be 15 and under on December 31st, 2022, are eligible.

The Canadian Team has finished the competition. Canada is very proud of all 6 members of the team who finished 3 challenging exams in the 2021 IJSO competition hosted by the UAE. Follow the closing ceremony of the competition www.ijso.ae/ where medals will be awarded.

- To provide curriculum embedded, grade 7 to 10 on-line and laboratory resources to enrich the science classroom experience for teachers and students across Canada
- To provide top intermediate science students from across Canada the opportunity to enhance and test their theoretical and practical lab skills in Chemistry, Physics and Biology
- To select the top 6 students to represent Canada at the International Junior Science Olympiad
- To provide opportunities for global scientific collaboration for students 12 to 15 years old
- To provide evidence and feedback on the relevance and quality of science education in Canada as compared to that in other IJSO participant countries
- To connect the science curricula in the provinces and territories of Canada to real-world issues
- To nurture girls’ interest in STEM
- Offrir un programme d’études intégré, des ressources en ligne de la 7e à la 10e année et des ressources de laboratoire pour enrichir l’expérience en classe de sciences pour les enseignants et les élèves de tout le Canada.
- Fournir aux meilleurs étudiants en sciences de niveau intermédiaire de partout au Canada l’occasion d’améliorer et de mettre à l’ épreuve leurs compétences de laboratoire théoriques et pratiques en chimie, physique et biologie
- Sélectionner les 6 meilleurs étudiants pour répresenter le Canada à l’Olympiade internationale junior de science
- Offrir des possibilités de collaboration scientifique mondiale aux étudiants de 12 à 15 ans
- Fournir des preuves et des commentaires sur la pertinence et la qualité de l’enseignement des sciences au Canada par rapport à celui d’autres pays participants à l’IJSO
- Relier les programmes de sciences des provinces et des territoires du Canada aux problèmes du monde réel
- Susciter l’intérêt des filles pour les STIM
